About me

My name is Mateusz Wiśniewski and I have a pleasure to welcome you on my website. I have been collecting caps since March 2005 and I started this adventure thanks to my friend who showed me his collection. Back then, being one of many, I put caps into a box with not taking any notice of differences. However time passed, colleagues stopped being interested in such a hobby, and I became the only collector in my neighbourhood. Then I told my family about my hobby and thus my collection began to swell with rarer patterns. In October 2006 I found by chance a link to the Polish Crown Caps Collectors’ Forum and the Davide's crown caps forum. Thanks to them I accomplished my first exchanges via Internet with collectors from all over the world.

Shortly after a registration, that is December 1, 2006, I made my first website (how did it look like? See an archive). In subsequent years I was improving it to become not only a gallery but also helpful in maintaining my collection. In 2010 I and Tomasz Stefaniak created the Catalogue of Polish Crown Caps Without Signatures based on the Paweł Kamieniecki’s catalogue. Since 2014 I have also a pleasure of exercising a technical assistance of the main catalogue, i.e. Catalogue of Polish Crown Caps With Signatures.

Currently I have over 10 000 caps in my collection. It wouldn’t be possible if it hadn’t been for unselfish help of acquaintances, relatives and hundreds of trades. I collect caps from all over the world, beer and non-beer, without distinguishing the signatures.
